Microsoft Azure offers benefits for new users. They provide a $200 credit with a 1-month free period, which is useful for temporary testing or setting up services like a proxy. Here’s a summary of the process.

Prerequisites

  • A Visa dual-currency card for payment binding
  • A good terminal for deploying SS, such as iterm2 on Mac
  • A Microsoft account - if you don’t have one, you’ll be prompted to register when logging into Azure
  • You might need access to Google

Log in to the International Azure Website

Address: https://azure.microsoft.com

Follow the steps, and for the bank card section, just fill in the information normally. For the address, you can actually fill in whatever you want.

Key point: Just make sure the bank card information is correct

Enter the Portal

After successful registration, click on portal to enter the management page

https://portal.azure.com/#home

The page is quite complex. If you find English difficult, you can switch the language

OK, click on the left menu

Create an Instance

Key point: Choose the lowest configuration because the free $200 credit isn’t actually that much money, and Azure is expensive!

Fill in all the required fields as requested, continue through the steps, and finally click create. If successful, you’ll receive a notification.

SSH User

If you chose username and password for SSH, remember to record them, as you’ll need them when accessing via terminal

Public IP

You need to create a new one here, so you’ll have a fixed IP for external access

Port Opening

You need to add SSH port 22 and the future SS service port to the inbound port rules.
